Contemporary family portrait photography studio session with Victoria's Portrait and Wedding Photography, Dover, Kent

Had a great family portrait photography session a few weeks ago with Julie and her family. Julie and I met up before her portrait photography session to discuss the types of photos she wanted and to share ideas. Julie wanted her photos to have a contemporary feel to them with space around those in the photo, and subjects not necessarily focussed around the central point. Julie also wanted some photos converting to black and white and some to sepia.

On the day of the contemporary family portrait photography session everyone was feeling a bit nervous about what was expected of them and Julie's teenage sons were not too keen about the idea of having their photos taken. That said, once we got into the studio and started with some family shots everyone started to relax and I think they even started to enjoy themselves. The lads changed clothes a couple of times, with their ski gear  and hoodies looking fab in the photos.

Here's a few of my favourite shots from the photo session - the bright coloured clothing worked really well against the high key background and the different colour tones translated really well into black and white and sepia photographs.

Wedding Photography at Deal Town Hall by Victoria's Portrait and Wedding Photography, Dover, Kent

Seems like ages ago that I photographed Hayley and Darren's Wedding at Deal Town Hall. The weather leading up to the wedding had been wet, and the wedding day started off a bit gloomy and showery but brightened up nicely in time for Hayley to make her way to Deal Town Hall. I arrived at Hayley's Mum's house in time to get some photos of everyone getting ready and then hot footed it down to Deal Town Hall in time to hear Darren arriving in a red Trans-Am that Hayley had hired him as a surprise. I heard the rumble way before I spotted Darren's wedding car.  Once Darren had torn himself away from the car, we took some photos outside and inside the Town Hall. It wasn't long before our beautiful bride arrived in her black cab and the ceremony got underway.

After a lovely wedding ceremony we took some group wedding photographs and then all dived in the black cab up to Deal seafront so we could get some photos under the pier. We got some cracking shots and then headed back to the Town Hall so I could pick up my car and head to Hayley and Darren's Wedding reception at Deal Welfare Club.

After photographing Hayley and Darren's wedding cake (cupcakes by Em's Cupcakes) I headed home, leaving everyone to enjoy their evening meal and scrummy cupcakes and the children to enjoy the bouncy castle that was set up by the dancefloor.

A fantastic day's wedding photography with a lovely couple and their family.

Couples photoshoot with Victoria's Portrait and Wedding Photography, Dover, Kent

I had great fun at a recent portrait photography studio session with a newly engaged couple, Kathryn and Joseph. Neither Kathryn or Joseph had had their photos taken professionally before and didn't know what to expect when they arrived and were a little apprehensive. One we got started, both Kathryn and Joseph soon settled in and started to relax and enjoy themselves. We got some great shots, some of which I've included below.
